Getting all dolled up in cute outfit, fresh make up, and a new hair-do. Hold up. Wait a minute. Cannot forget the nails and shaved legs. In the moment of topping things off with one last look in the mirror before heading out, I feel happy. Like omg happy. Like taking an extra thirty minutes to leave the house to snap several selfies happy.
Hey, when I look good I feel good!
Everyone has their own definition of looking good. Some people feel better with no make up, some feel better with a lot of make-up on. None of us should have to explain what we do to make ourselves feel better, but it should be genuine. There are a ton of trends going around. Also, we all know that society almost tells us exactly what we should do with our lives, how we should feel, and how we should look.
For example, there’s having a huge butt and lips, a super skinny waist, and big boobs. Not that there is anything wrong with these things because ya girl wants a big butt too. My point is not to feel as if you need to get these things done. Don’t ever look at yourself and say “I need to get plastic surgery” or “Everyone is doing this so I should too.” At times we may even get so caught up in the world that these thoughts run through our mind without even realizing. This right here is a huge reason to stay self aware. Stay aware in your intentions, aware in who you truly are, and aware of how you truly feel without any surroundings, just you.
Sit with yourself. Go through your thoughts. Figure out who you are, what you want for yourself and in life.
I have spent a lot of time building a relationship with myself and realizing who I am. It is truly amazing to feel whole. To feel at peace. So…
- Love yourself, first. In everything that you have done and seen, accept your flaws. Don’t just accept them, but embrace them. Embrace every little and big thing you have gone through in life. These things have shaped you.
- Take care of yourself. Spoil yoself girl. Get a facial or message. Better yet, get both! Let yourself relax.
- Do what makes you happy. Do what makes you feel good, real good.
Put yourself first without feeling selfish.
I put on my Pink Blush dress, which instantly made me feel pretty when I put it on. No added accessories, just me in this pink dress. I looked in the mirror, took in every piece of I am and accepted it all.
When I embarrass myself, I laugh, As the rain pours, I go out and dance in it. If something doesn’t go my way, I shrug it off. When someone makes a rude remark, I pray for them. No longer do I let others opinions affect me.
Doing me. Having fun. Loving myself and the life I live.
