Ah, in high school I was dreaming of attending one of the biggest Fashion events that ever did exist, New York Fashion Week. The idea was something I quickly pushed away thinking that it was not possible. Well come August of 2017, my eyes were opened.
As a new blogger I have been constantly looking for resources to build my brand. That is when it happened. I found Style Collective. Everything for NYFW was laid out for me. From what to pack, who to e-mail, outfit ideas, and where to stay. It was a month before the festivities began and I put in work! No lie. I read up what I could then went to e-mailing. Everything I did was last minute as I found out on short notice that there were chances of me even attending. I mean I bought every single outfit the day before I left. It was crazy, but I made it happen.
- Style Collective. As I already mentioned, SC helped me out with pretty much everything! I followed their steps, as best as I could.
- Facebook Groups. I joined a Facebook group with other bloggers who were planning on attending NYFW. In the group the ladies and I chatted on where to stay, planned meet ups, and gave overall tips and advice.
- Not much else to add. I don’t want to go into too much detail as I literally received everything from the two steps listed above and highly recommend you do too! Once I had my show invites, a place to stay, and photographer I then went shopping.
Outfit details and more…
This jean dress from Forever 21, was already in my closet. This was my first time wearing it and you already know I had to POP MY COLLAR. It was dream come true when I found the pairing, Free People shoes at Tj Maxx!
So, I forgot a belt. Yes that is right, I forgot a belt. My pants were falling off and life was hectic. This was my very first outfit and right after I left the first show I quickly changed. It was fun while it lasted. Every piece came from Buckle, including the jewelry.
Now, my favorite look. This nude Free People dress with the most fabulous sleeves. It was a must that I wear these knee high boots, which were also already in my closet from Charlotte Russe.
And that is that for outfits. I arrived on Sunday, September 10th at 4am. Very early, but with the bus schedule that is how it was. Once I touched down, I got a taxi and went to my friends place where I napped before my first show at 10am. I attended five shows on my first day. On the second day, I went to only one and scheduled meetings and play time outside of that.
For a rushed preparation and short visit, I feel as if I did amazing. Not only that, I had the time of my life being in the city, soaking up the fashion, and learning. I learned so much. Stay tuned for my next post on the show details: What and Who.
